Referral

I finally got my referral on Dec. 8/07. That came from the agency but it wasn't official until Dec. 13/07 when I got it from Nancy, my provincial SW. Bethany Alicia Yuxing is such an adorable little girl - I can't wait to hold her in my arms and kiss those chubby little cheeks. Bob from FOI has told me they will get me to China before the Olympics - which would mean travel in June or May at the earliest. More info on my main site.

More delays - - -

The next batch of files didn't come until June and there was no referral for me - :( - so probably no more files until close to Christmas - October if we are really lucky! The January group is travelling in August so the very earliest I could expect to travel would be May 2008. In the meantime I am looking at relocating so that means selling my house and buying another - and another moving day!

Delays

It seems pretty obvious that I won't get to meet my daughter by the end of May so I have changed my ticker. I hope to get a referral in April and, if I do, I probably won't travel before September. Crying

Added on June 24/07

DTC - Feb 2/07
LID - Feb 15/07

I contacted Michelle and requested an addendum to increase the age I had requested. After discussing it with Nancy, she agreed and I am now approved for age 36 months at placement.

Word from my agency

On January 29, I received this email from my agency (FOI)

Hello everyone,

We will be shipping out your dossiers to China, back through your respective provincial ministries (for ON-- directly from us), whereby they will be sent off for logging in to China.

We will be preparing a package and a letter listing this information. The package will likely be completed this weekend. In it, you will find documents from us, and any documents that will be returned to you.

As you are aware, the Waiting Child program is in the midst of changes. Currently, the CCAA has been instructing agencies to hold onto files, and submit the files, once the family is matched, either by the CCAA, or by FOI. While the CCAA has been given your name, along with the conditions that you are approved for, it is not entirely clear at this time whether this name submission constitutes a Log-in date. Considering the upcoming changes for May 1, 2007, and considering the length of time documents are considered valid (12 months for the CCAA, upon receipt of documents), we felt it prudent to submit your dossier to the CCAA. It is our expectation that this will result in a log-in date prior to the new regulations, and ensuring that your documents would not “expire” in the meantime.

Congratulations to all of you.

Have a wonderful week.

So I will finally have a DTC date and LID - eventually! :)

Then yesterday, Jan. 30, I received email notice from Canada Post that FOI is shipping an info packet via XpressPost - I think that should be here tomorrow.

Dossier back at FOI

I spoke with Yulin today, Dec. 14/06, and FOI has my dossier back from the Chinese Embassy in Ottawa! Despite the changes CCAA is making (no singles accepted after May 1, 2007), Yulin believes I will not have any problem. She seems to think that I will have a referral by then!
